A Dharma life is a life of ‘coming home’. Coming home to our true nature. We can spend life running away from ourselves, yet what we all long to do is to stop, to come home.
I’m running this weekend with my good friend and crazy collaborator, Ulrika Wedin. We’ve worked together many times in Stockholm. We start with an idea or a constellation of ideas. I then reflect on the dharma in relation to those ideas, the teachings, the meditations. While Ulrika goes straight to the non-conceptual, the body, objects, rituals.
We seem to act as a kind of muse for each other, magic happens.
The constellation of ideas for this weekend retreat:
The notion of ‘coming home’
coming home to our house
coming home to our body
coming home to our heart
We need to be at home in our surroundings to really relax, when we relax we can come home to our body, being present in our bodies we can contact the heart.
When we contact the heart we intuit that all the qualities of Buddhahood are there. This is the teaching of Tathagatagarbha, Buddha-nature, that the ‘womb’ of the Buddha is our own heart/mind.
